Change Orders are initiated by the Contractor, Architect/Engineer or Owner, which may increase or decrease the scope of the project as defined by the plans and specifications. Once a Change Order is initiated, review/evaluation is undertaken to determine the merit and/or requirements of the Change Order. Change Orders are reviewed by the Architect/Engineer and staff prior to submission to the School Board. Change Orders affect the scope of the project and are required to be School Board approved by State Requirements for Educational Facilities and Florida Statutes.

During the demolition phase of the project the fascia system fell apart as it was being removed to accommodate the new roof and flashings on the two main buildings. It appears that the Contractor took reasonable care in removing the fascia; however due to the way the initial installation was done it was impossible to salvage. To repair this unforeseen damage, it will be necessary to remove the existing fascia, install new .032  fascia to match the existing, to install hat channels 4'-0" OC, and to field fabricate canopy flashing at various areas.
